A community established and sustained for decades by farming, Elgin supports agriculture in our community. The Elgin Local Food Network, established through a SARE grant, provides a look at farming in the Elgin area. Austin Community College Elgin Campus, provides a unique sustainable agriculture study program.

    The Elgin Local Food Network is an informal network of folks interested in strengthening Elgin's ability to produce and provide sustainable and organic food for people living in our region.

  5. Elgin Farmers' Market

    The River Valley Farmers Market is located in the Veterans' Memorial Park every Saturday. The RVFM has fresh and locally-grown vegetables and fruits as a growers-only market, growing what it sells. The RVFM also hosts kids activities, live music and special events such as visiting Chefs.
