Elgin Volunteer Fire Department Annual Lighted Christmas Parade & Toy Drive Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Dusk. The Lighted Parade is sponsored by the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department. Snowflake Project Look for snowflake making stations around the community and at special events like Hot Cocoa Stroll Holiday by the Tracks, Holiday Sweater Saturday, and Sip Shop and Stroll. The Main Street Board- Design Committee is organizing this project. We hope the community will help make snowflakes and share their thoughts about public art in Elgin. In addition to the special event options snowflakes can be made at Elgin Local Goods, The Owl, Wine Bar and Home Goods store, and Aviators pizza. The Snowflakes will be installed at 28N for a temporary art display Saturday, December 16th in celebration of The Art of Giving and art in our community. BULK TRASHBulk Trash: New information BULK TRASH SERVICES The City of Elgin has Residential Bulk Pickup every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. All bulk requests are to be submitted in writing, at dnavejas@ci.elgin.tx.us ,our website at elgintx.com or forms may be picked up at City Hall. Call in requests will not be accepted. The deadline to schedule a pickup is Friday at 5pm prior to the next scheduled bulk date. Chapter 42, Article IV, Section 42-272 “Bulky waste and brush waste shall not be placed out for collection earlier than 5:00 p.m. two days before the established collection day and shall be moved from the collection site no later than 7:00 a.m. the date after the collection day.” Violation of the rules and requirements –including exceeding the limit for bulk trash placed at the curb may result in citation and potential fines per City Ordinance. Bulk dates, Acceptable/ Non-acceptable items can be found on the City Calendar/Services at www.elgintx.com
