DIY Candles at Home

Materials you will need:
  • Wax
  • Wick
  • Mason jar or other type of container for your candle
  • Fragrance and color
  • A pot to melt the wax

You will first need to make sure you find an appropriate wax for the type of candle you'd like to make, as well as an appropriate wick for the wax you have chosen. Some wicks will not burn hot enough to melt a certain type of wax.

  • Use a pot to melt your wax on the stove. Make sure you are melting enough or not too much to fit the container you are using.
  • Add your fragrance and color of choice.
  • Before you pour the wax into your container, place your wick. Make sure it will stand up on its own. If not, you will need to attach it to something in order for it stand straight up and in the middle.
  • After the wax is completely melted, pour it into your container.
  • Make sure to wait 24-48 hours to let the candle harden before using.

There are endless types of candles you can make and try out. It's very easy, saves money, and gives you something to do indoors.
