Home for the Holidays in Elgin

The City of Elgin offices will be closed Monday, January 2nd for New Years. 
Please call 512-285-5757 for after hours utility emergencies.

Holiday by the Tracks

Elgin is Home for Holiday by the Tracks!

The City of Elgin will offer Christmas tree recycling from December 26 through January 8th at the Elgin Park & Ride parking lot on Hwy 95 North at Elgin Memorial Park.  Please remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel and any other objects.  Flocked trees cannot be recycled. 

Trees will be mulched.  The Parks & Recreation Department uses the mulch at park and city facilities throughout the community.  The public can pick up 2 yards for personal use, between January 8th and the 13th at the same location.

Find all the upcoming events, meetings, & classes via the Community Calendar on the website home page. 
The calendar lets you view all items or you can select
a category, such as events, meetings, library or parks, etc.  You can also sign up to get notifications when the calendar is updated and specify the types of events you want to know about. 

Elgin Farmers' Market:
 Open every Saturday in Veterans' Memorial Park. For Holiday by the Tracks, on December 3rd, they will be located inside at 30 North Main.

First Saturday Sidewalk Sales: Saturday, January 7, Historic Downtown Elgin. Flyer

Sip, Shop & Stroll: Thursday, January 12, 5 - 8 pm in Historic Downtown Elgin. Sip a little wine as you shop and stroll through unique shops with eclectic decor, clothing, art, gifts and more. In Store Specials updated for each event.

Polar Bear Plunge: Monday, January 2, 10 am to noon, Elgin Municipal Pool at Morris Memorial Park, 802 N Ave C. BRRRRRR.... Flyer

Martin Luther King Jr Day Walk: Monday, January 16. Each year in January, a walk is planned followed by a program with guest speakers in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. The City of Elgin will host the walk this year. Additional information will be posted to the Community Calendar on our Website as soon as it is available.
